| Abstrakt: |
The article discusses contemporary framing on the public discourse on immigrants in the United States. Analysis of the Proposition 187 or the texts of the political debate and campaign in California in 1994 is presented. Proposition 187 is an anti-immigrant referendum. This article discusses the establishment of the immigrant status of clients. Metaphors from the articles of the "Los Angeles Times" reflect the political language of the American public. The metaphor, immigrants are animals, according to the study is racist. It degrades immigrants, assigning them as less than humans in the society. |
