The article discusses a study on the use of insurer claims data in validating clinical trial associations concerning the effect of βblocker compliance on mortality and repeat reinfarction. It mentions that randomized controlled trials have shown the efficacy of β-blocker in lowering mortality and reinfarction yet there is limited published research regarding the effect of long-term compliance in observational community settings. It concludes that insurer claims data reinforce existing literature on the benefits of β-blocker compliance. |
