Abstrakt: The article presents information about the renovation of 114-year-old trekkers' lodge in Zermatt, Switzerland. The lodge, at 9,169 feet in the Swiss Alps, has been renamed as Monte Rosa Hut. The 6 million dollars renovation project was led by architect Marcel Baumgartner. The hut has a spherical shape which cuts the wind and maximizes space. It has 50 rooms and 120 bunks with windowed staircase. The hut is powered by solar panels and internally stored rapeseed biodiesel generator.
