Abstrakt: |
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)-based wireless systems are used for very high rate data transmission, but they are vulnerable to frequency synchronization errors. The fast variation of the channel due to high mobility applications can induce Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI). ICI will significantly decrease the throughput of OFDM systems. ICI due to carrier frequency offset can be mitigated by accurate frequency synchronization, but ICI due to fast fading channel is more difficult to handle. This paper uses Variable Sub-carrier Bandwidth (VSB) with Variable Bit Loading (VBL) technique to minimize the effect of ICI and improve the throughput. The performance of such VSB-VBL OFDM system with Fixed Sub-carrier Bandwidth OFDM (FSB OFDM) system is investigated based on throughput. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
