Abstrakt: The article examines the means by which law relies on epidemiology to ascertain the truth. It is stated that during court proceedings, the juries look at scientific evidences to determine the truth in areas such as toxic tort, employment discrimination and civil rights. However, it is stated that the law also misuses the epidemiological evidences, perhaps, because the legal professionals do not adequately understand the concept and often misapply it. It is suggested that the judges should appoint experts for the court, not to take sides, but to ensure that the judge understands relevant scientific principles in a case.
