In this article the author discusses the social condition of women authors in Manchester, England. She states that according to a research project, writers in Manchester have little interest in the conditions of country's largest migrant groups, the African, Caribbean and Asian migrants. She says that women writers like Julie Farrand focus more on the urban environment of the city. She states that the city has little public or private space to offer in which the female protagonists feel safe. |
