| Abstrakt: |
The article reports on the economic performance as well as forecasts for the automobile industry in Switzerland. It shows that new passenger car registrations has declined by 12.5% in the first half of 2009 and the outlook for new sales is poor in both passenger and commercial vehicles. It notes that the country's car prices may be expensive in a European comparison of absolute prices, however, prices are affordable in terms of domestic income, as local wages are relatively high. |
