| Abstrakt: |
The article presents the results of a randomized clinical trial which compares the surgical outcomes after laparoscopic and open approaches for mid and low rectal cancers. The study includes 204 patients with mid and low rectal adenocarcinomas, wherein 103 are allocated to open surgery and 101 to laparoscopic surgery. It shows that the laparoscopic surgery for rectal cancer has a similar complication rate to open surgery. |
