The article presents information on the Main Street block in Cincinnati, Ohio. The six blocks of Main between Central Parkway and Liberty Street rank among the most contested, abused, lauded, historic, heartbreaking, and exquisitely beautiful real estate in the city. In the years after World War II, the block became home to white Appalachians who'd migrated from Kentucky and West Virginia. Cultural overlap continued in the 1980s, when struggling artists discovered Main Street's cheap rents. |
