The authors comment on a process for sharing research data in the area of intercollegiate sport gathered by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the U.S. They say a person's ability to manage and archive data was improved by technological innovations. Also cited are the factors that impeded the practice in the fields of education and psychology, including concerns about the confidentiality of participants in research. Steps to be taken by the NCAA to overcome barriers to developing a comprehensive data sharing program are tackled. |
