The article presents the case study of a woman without cardiovascular risk factors, involved in a car accident suffering blunt chest trauma. It informs that the first electrocardiogram (ECG) showed minor ST-T segment elevation, myocardial enzymes CPK-MB and Troponin-T were raised slightly above normal ranges, however, it changed after 24 hours. The final diagnosis found myocardial infarction after blunt chest trauma secondary to a nearly total occlusion of an epicardial coronary artery. |
