Abstrakt: Studies the collision-induced rotational alignment of nitrogen oxide ions drifting in a helium buffer gas with molecular dynamics using the ab initio potential surface obtained through a coupled-cluster singles-doubles approximation. Average translational and rotational temperatures, velocity and angular momentum distributions; Mechanism of the alignment.
