Decay Heat Removal and Transient Analysis in Accidental Conditions in the EFIT Reactor.

Abstrakt: The article provides an analysis on the performance of the decay heat removal (DHR) system in addressing loss-of-heat sink (LOHS) accidental conditions in a European industrial-scale transmutation facility (EFIT). It states that the effectiveness of the system was evaluated through the use of SIMMER-III code and RELAP5 one-dimensional (1D) model. According to the RELAP5 1D model, the DHR was able to remove decay under the LOHS conditions.
