Abstrakt: The article presents a study on the performance and capabilities of five auto-adjusting positive airway pressure (APAP) units used for treating obstructive sleep apnea. It notes that four sleep-disordered breathing patterns such as apnea were digitized for mechanical test lung. Results show the response of all devices to the change from normal to apneic breathing. An overview of the approaches used by the five manufacturers, including ResMed Inc., on their algorithm design is offered.
