Abstrakt: The article discusses a case study examining the level of toxicosis in an onion that caused the death of five adult water buffalo in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The water buffalo exhibited pale mucous membranes, lethargy and dark urine after eating a large amount of onion in the pasture. The study concludes that the consumption of onions caused hemolytic anemia and methemobinemia which led to ischemic-induced organ damage.
