Abstrakt: The article presents a study on the effects of different reward programs on the in-role and extra-role behavior of retail sales associates in Australia and their capability to enhance the in-role and extra-role behavior. The study states that certain reward programs motivate sales associates to employ in in-role and extra-role behavior simultaneously while informal reward programs appear to be effective in motivating sales associates to improve their performance. The study also mentions that certain reward programs such as individual and group financial incentives have the capability to improve the in-role performance without affecting extra-role performance.
