Abstrakt: Investigates the capture of lithium atoms by a beam of large cold helium clusters and subsequent ion production by electron impact. How lithium atoms are efficiently picked up by helium droplets; Mass spectrum revealing the presence of lithium atom and dimer ions; How capture by helium-cluster beams can be used for efficient soft ionization.
