The article presents the clinical and scientific approaches in treating gingival enlargement. It mentions that diagnosis of gingival enlargement is critical if an appropriate treatment measures for gingival enlargement are to be instituted. The determination of whether the enlargement is inflammatory, fibrous or a combination as well as the determination of the health status is important. It further states that microscopic examination of tissue may be a great benefit for the dentist to determine the course of therapy to be given to the patient. |
