The article focuses on the prosthetic rehabilitation of patients acquiring mandibular defects following the mouth tumor surgery, and describes the cases of patients who underwent tumor surgery at the Clinic for Jaw and Plastic Surgery of the Dental School of Düsseldorf University in Germany. It states that the surgical planning for the tumors of the mandible and floor of the mouth region, including osteofibroma, myxofibroma and central giant cell tumor, requires the anticipated prosthetic and epithetic measures. It describes the case of a 36-year-old woman who underwent a replacement osteoplasty with iliac crest transplant, and the case of a 18-year-old woman with a giant cell tumor, who was treated with the mandibular reconstruction with iliac crest bone. |
