Abstrakt: The article focuses on the life and poetic works of poet and novelist Adelaide O'Keeffe. It mentions her pioneering work in two poetry genres which include the children's dramatic monologue and the novel-in-verse. It is said that O'Keeffe wrote nine collections of children's poems, four novels and retelling of the Bible. It is also stated that she was the first writer to conform dramatic forms with the percepts of eighteenth-century rational education to children's poetry.
