Abstrakt: The article presents a research which examined the turbulent characteristics of the shallow rain-impacted water flow using a two-dimensional fibre-optic laser Doppler velocimetry (FLDV) and an artificial rainfall simulator. It states that raindrop and overland flow are factors affecting soil detachment and particle transportation. Under the study, the fluctuating turbulent shear stress was determined utilizing digital data processing procedures. Results revealed that the Reynolds shear stress depicts a probability distribution with heavy tails.
