Abstrakt: The article offers a country risk assessment for South Korea. It states that the category score for security risk in the country was raised from 61 to 64 because of the increasing incidence of kidnappings. The heightened likelihood of social unrest amid the deterioration of the economy was cited as the reason for raising the political stability risk category score by five points, from 35 to 40. It is noted that foreign trade and payments risk category has been downgraded because of the slightly higher risk of the imposition of protectionist measures.
