| Abstrakt: |
The article presents a macroeconomic risk assessment for Germany as of December 2008. It is expected that the German economy would contract in 2009, after the country entered technical recession in the third quarter of 2008. The author reports that consumption growth has been sharply hit by higher inflation. Several risk scenarios are discussed, which include the deepening financial crisis and recession. |
