Abstrakt: The article focuses on the South Asian Geometry as exemplified in the Durga temple of Aihole in India. The temples, which were designed with level of cultural knowledge, including dynastic power, conceptions of the universe and messages from kings, were also embedded with knowledge of geometry. The evidence can be found through the utilization of the vastupurusha mandala, which is a ritual grid that is composed 64 or 81 squares. It states that Sulbasutras are the Indian texts that cover geometry required to build agnis or fire pits and vedis or altars.
