Chapter 10 the book "Science As Inquiry in the Secondary Setting," edited by Julie Luft, Randy L. Bell and Julie Gess-Newsome is presented. It discusses the assessment of scientific inquiry in the classroom setting. Some characteristics of inquiry assessment are presented, including learners needing a deep foundation of conceptual knowledge and to come to the classroom with conceptions about the world around them. Assessment types making up a balance approach are also tackled. |
