Moroccan women are underrepresented among researchers at Oujda University. They account for about 10% of the scientific research done there. The principal reasons are the difficulties in research areas at the university and family and social obligations. The university’s Theoretical Physics, Particle Physics and Modeling Laboratory (LPTPM) includes 10 professors, nine PhDs, and nine graduate students. Three of them are women: one professor, one PhD, and one student. All work in the ATLAS collaboration of more than 150 laboratories around the world. ATLAS is one of four detectors to be operated on the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
