Abstrakt: | The article focuses on a study on the feasibility of obtaining root coverage using the free soft tissue autograft over carious root surfaces. The methodology involved treating five teeth having deep marginal tissue recession ranging from 4-7mm with root caries. After root planing, the teeth were conditioned with pH 1saturated citric acid for 5 minutes. Primary root coverage was obtained on all teeth without a second procedure to coronally position the tissue. A phenomenon in tissue maturation following initial healing was noted on some teeth treated with citric acid. The results indicate that citric acid stimulates more rapid healing and maturation of tissue. It concludes that complete root coverage is an attainable objective when using a free soft tissue autograft on root surfaces. |
