Abstrakt: The article focuses on the use of formocresol for reducing postendodontic pain. Formocresol is used in endodontic therapy for pulp canal sterilization. Formocresol contains 10% formaldehyde, 35% cresol, and 15% glycerol. Various researchers have said that formocresol is effective in fixing the pulpal tissue, and it also has an impact on the enzymes and connective tissue surrounding the apices of the treated teeth. According to other researchers, formocresol does not interfere with the recovery of connective tissue, and can suppress the initial inflammatory response.
