Abstrakt: The role of exercise and sport in the lives of intravenous drug users (n = 45) was assessed, using an interviewer-administered open-ended questionnaire. Results demonstrated a high level of exercise and sport interest in this population (64%). Being a sports fan was also found in most of the responses (72%). This study on the role of exercise and sport in an intravenous drug-using population could be considered when developing rehabilitation measures or as an addition to present therapeutic interventions.
