This article examines the use of the concept of the therapeutic relationship as an indicator of outcome in depression and affective disorders. It references a study which concluded that therapeutic gain is influenced by interpersonal dimensions of the treatment process. It also discusses a study which found that a strong therapeutic relationship predicted fewer negative attitudes to medication. |
