The article focuses on clinical and laboratory procedures that may enhance the maintenance of root integrity and periodontal health of abutment teeth under a remote overdenture. A remote overdenture is usually constructed for insertion at some time that is remote from the removal of hopeless natural teeth. It is not just a step toward a conventional or implant-supported complete denture, but rather a definitive treatment, which with good patient cooperation, has a predictable and reasonable long-term prognosis. |
