An essay is presented that discusses the afforestation that occurred in Delhi, India during the last part of the 19th century and the first part of the 20th century. The author states that the afforestation occurred to make the city appear to be more like a European capital. The conflict that the afforestation created between the government and the natives who lived in the area is discussed. The impact that the afforestation has had on present day Delhi is mentioned. |
