Abstrakt: The article focuses on three principles that are useful in language acquisitions and enable learners to decide which analyses to retain. These include heterogeneity of variance, convergence of cues, and bootstrapping. It states that these principles are among many that might guide statistical learning, which is considered the new paradigm in language acquisition. Moreover, details about their uses are discussed.
