This article offers a history of the International College of Prosthodontists (ICP). In November, 1982, a steering committee was organized to form the organization, comprised of representatives from seven countries, including Bo Bergman of Sweden, Lloyd Crawford of Australia, and Jack Preston of the U.S. The first meeting of the ICP was held in Seattle, Washington in October, 1985 in conjunction with a gathering of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). The article provides details on the first seven meetings of the ICP, the last of which took place in Malta in October, 1997, along with photographs of members of the ICP and a description of the purposes of the organization. |
