This article explores the history of the development of Catholic studies programs in Catholic universities in the U.S. It discusses the context of Catholic Studies within the framework of the education curriculum of higher education. It attributes the development of such programs to student demands for a more relevant curriculum. The article also examines the influence and impact of Catholic thought upon the history and culture of Western civilization. It describes the models of Catholic studies programs introduced by Catholic universities. |
