Abstrakt: The article discusses a study which examined an antiarrhythmic action during sympathetic stimulation in the intact anesthetized dog with and without ischemia. It notes that the therapeutic effects of aspirin (ASA) during acute myocardial infarction have been attributed to an antiplatelet effect. It cites the examination of the ventricular fibrillation threshold (VFT) before and after epinephrine (E) in normals (group I). The study concluded that ASA antagonizes the reduction of the VFT induced by catecholamine in normals.
