Abstrakt: Six different ratios of mercury to alloy were evaluated for a spherical alloy dental amalgam by hand and pneumatic compaction into a test cavity with an internal line angle of 30°. Measurements of the area of discrepancy between amalgam and wall of the cavity in 240 specimens showed that varying the amount of mercury in 1% increments between 48 and 52% compositions did not introduce significant changes in adaptation for either of the two compaction technics.
