This article discusses research into the role played by calcium and phosphorus in the development of dental caries. The experimenters monitored the development of dental caries in rats subjected to variations in calcium, phosphorus, or vitamin D so as to examine the possible relationship between malnutrition and dental caries. The authors found that age and dietary meal contributed more to the development of dental caries than either calcium or phosphorus. |
