| Abstrakt: |
The article presents a longitudinal examination of age-related changes in the composition of parotid saliva from humans. Collection and analytical procedures are described and results are discussed. Concentrations of both sodium and chloride, as well as osmolality values and the total protein level, were observed to decline with age. Conversely, the concentration of parotid saliva urea was found to be highest among older age groups. These and other findings are presented in several tables of data. |
