The article reports on a study in which efficacy of imatinib dose escalation in patients with newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in chronic phase (CP) is described. As reported, these patients were enrolled on the International Randomized Study of Interferon and ST1571 (IRIS) trials. It has been supported by the results of this study that imatinib dose escalation is an appropriate initial option for patients with CML-CP who were experiencing suboptimal cytogenetic response. |
