Abstrakt: The article reports on the results of research which was conducted in an effort to examine acid production in glucose or sucrose in human salivary bacteria and find its role in the development of dental caries. Researchers examined the saliva of 138 children that had been collected over the course of a six month period. Researchers found that acid formation in sucrose and the bacteria lactobacillus was shown to have little correlation with the development of dental caries.
