The article discusses laboratory methods for screening substances that could inhibit the carious process associated with dental plaque and oral microbiology. The need for a rapid in vitro method for the preliminary screening of such substances is mentioned, noting that a plaque pH (hydrogen-ion concentration) method would be too time consuming to be practical for testing a large number of compounds. |
