Abstrakt:	The article focuses on the development of sublingual and submaxillary salivary glands in human embryos. It states that the article "Beiträge zur Entwickelungsgeschichte der Speicheldrüsen," published in 1885 by J. H. Chievitz of Copenhagen, presents the majority of knowledge available in 1919 concerning salivary gland development in embryos. It comments on the structure of the submaxillary gland and presents diagrams of the tongue and salivary grands.
