The article focuses on a study which identifies and presents an easy-to-implement approach to address the potentially disastrous implications of supply chain fragility in the U.S. It highlights four factors in relation to the increasing global supply chain fragility in the country. Factors include increasing complexity of products, processes, and technologies, increasing structural complexity of supply chains, and increasing diversity and global nature of business systems, as well as the environmental costs and effects of extended supply chains. |
