Abstrakt: The article focuses on the modulation of lubrication biosynthesis and alterations in function of articular surface following mechanical injury. Methods of the study involve evaluating the effects of injurious compression of lubricin, following mechanical injury, and monitoring lubricin messenger RNA levels. It concludes on the significant impact of an increased lubricin biosynthersis to injurious compression, but with distinct morphologic changes that affect tissue.
