The article discusses the association between video and migratory culture. It introduces the term "heterochronotope" for the bond between migratory and the videographic. It mentions that like video, migrating people forms images that move. It discusses how video can help articulate migratory culture and vice versa. Several videos showing migration are also presented including William Kentridge's "Shadow Procession," Jesus Segura's Video "I Can Be You" and Mona Hatoum's "Measures of Distance." |
