Abstrakt: The article reports on slag concrete performance in a marine environment. It examines twelve concrete blocks with pelletized blast-furnace slag exposed in a marine tidal zone for twenty-five years. The blocks contained different amounts of slag. The study found that surface erosion increased with the level of slag content. Testing included the measure of chloride ion penetration, modulus of elasticity, compressive strength, and chloride permeability. All control concretes with twenty-five years of exposure had a chloride penetration greater than 100 mm. An overview of the study is provided.
