The article offers information on high-strength concrete (HSC), stating that strength is not an intrinsic property of concrete, but a relative property that depends on a number of factors. It notes that specimen geometry, size, age, and curing history, testing equipment parameters, and lateral and longitudinal stiffness are among the factors that influence concrete strength. It also notes that HSC must be constructible and durable. It notes that HSC is used in building Two Union Square, a 720-foot 58-story building in Seattle, Washington. |
