The article presents a study which reviews the management of insurance fraud in the U.S. property-casualty. It looks into the definition of consumer fraud, as well as its prevalence, insurer and regulatory results, and outcome. Moreover, the paper examines the challenges associated with defining and measuring consumer insurance fraud. The review reveals that due to the decentralization of insurance regulation, competitive factors, and inconsistency in claims procedures, there is a little agreement for a common definition of consumer fraud. It suggests that a social marketing campaign should be initiated to reduce the incidence and severity of single-claims fraud. |
