| Abstrakt: | The article discusses the relationship between poet Ben Jonson and his female patrons. It examines the representation of women in Jonson's drama and poetry as well as Jonson's attitude to gender as expressed in his work. It describes his attitude to women as more problematic than the so-called misogyny. Jonson's works cited include the masque "The Masque of Queens" and the play "Epicoene." |
